Character Compressor Plugin
Using Console Distressor
Use Console Distressor when you want compression and audible character in the same processor. Try it on an individual drum, a bass line or a vocal that needs a more assertive place in the mix.
A starting point
Compare ratios before adding distortion, so you can hear the envelope and colour separately. Use the external sidechain when another source should drive the compression.
