Reviews: privacy and moderation

Lydtrold uses reviews to help musicians make informed choices. We welcome positive and critical feedback. Ratings do not affect whether a genuine review is approved.

Writing and publishing reviews

Anyone can share their experience without an account, licence key or purchase check. New reviews do not receive a verified-purchase or verified-download label. Each new or edited review stays private until Lydtrold approves it.

Your chosen display name, rating, title, review and dates become public after moderation. A selected review may also appear on our homepage with a link to its product. Product averages include all approved reviews, not only featured reviews. Bundle reviews and individual plug-in reviews stay separate.

Your personal information

A secure, essential cookie remembers a random review identifier for up to one year so you can edit or delete reviews in the same browser. We store a private keyed identifier in the review database, not the cookie itself. There is normally one review per product per browser. Clearing cookies or changing browser removes access to those reviews; we cannot identify the same person across browsers without requiring a login.

Your email address is required to send a review receipt and let Lydtrold contact you about your review. It is included in the private moderation email and stored with your review, never in public review responses or ratings. Simply delivers these emails. This does not subscribe you to marketing. Providing an address does not verify its ownership or a purchase. No order number or licence key is requested. If you are already signed in through ChatGPT and have no review cookie, we use a keyed identifier derived from your sign-in email for review ownership. Your sign-in email is not copied into reviews; only the contact address you enter is stored privately. Administrator access always requires secure ChatGPT sign-in. Cloudflare hosts the website and database.

Review text and display names are personal data. Do not include contact details, serial numbers or information about others. We process this data to provide the review service you request. Short-lived rate limits use keyed identifiers derived from your browser or IP address to limit spam; raw IP addresses are not stored in review tables.

Access, correction and deletion

You can export or delete your reviews and edit them from each product page. Edits return to moderation. The private contact address is included in your review export and deleted with your review. For deletion of associated receipt or moderation emails, contact Lydtrold. We retain reviews until you delete them or we remove them under this policy. Temporary abuse-prevention counters remain until their one-hour expiry, including after review deletion, and are cleared during subsequent review activity. Hosting backups may retain deleted records until the provider’s normal backup retention ends.

For other privacy requests, identity problems or an appeal, contact Lydtrold. We will verify your identity before accessing or deleting personal data. Review deletion does not delete purchase or licensing records that are managed separately. You may also contact the Danish Data Protection Agency about a privacy concern.

Moderation

Spam, abuse, irrelevant promotions, exposed private information and clearly fraudulent content may be rejected or removed. A low score is not grounds for removal. No reviews are invented or copied between products. Replies are clearly marked as coming from Lydtrold. You can view the moderation reason on your review account page.
