Using The Host

Use The Host when a compatible VST3 instrument or effect needs to sit inside a DAW that uses another plug-in format. It provides a hosting route rather than converting the original plug-in.

A starting point

Choose the appropriate Native format for your DAW, then load the VST3 plug-in inside The Host. Compatibility depends on the hosted plug-in and host setup; this does not turn a VST3 processor into AAX DSP.

The Host

Load a compatible VST3 instrument or effect inside another supported DAW plug-in format, including AAX Native and AU.

Install and update through https://lydtrold.com/installer. Close your DAW, activate the licence key from your receipt, select your product and install.

Universal 2: Intel from macOS 10.15 and Apple silicon from macOS 11. The public Mac installer requires macOS 12 or later.

Mac: AU, VST3 and AAX Native. Windows: VST3 and AAX Native.

Native edition. AAX DSP is not available.

Use Lydtrold Installer for macOS or Windows. Native includes AU on Mac, VST3 and AAX Native.
