Using Console Gate
Reduce unwanted sound between phrases on a close microphone or tighten the spaces between drum hits. Sidechain filtering helps focus the gate detector on the part of the signal that matters.
A starting point
Set the threshold while listening to quiet intended notes as well as loud ones. Adjust timing so the gate opens naturally and does not close before the source has finished ringing.
